Juan Carlos Blancas is one of the members of Coeval. He is an artist and sound designer who has been working in the field of experimental audio. Coeval is a historical reference in the electronic scene of Spain.
Distante II is part of a trilogy that is called "Distante". The first part of this group of works, was released by the japanaise netlabel minusn.com.
Distante II combines soundscapes and digital manipulation, digital sound synthesis, glitches, generative algorithms and field recordings.

Juan Carlos Blancas is one of the foundation members of the Asociation of digital art CRC from Madrid, with whom produce events and festivals like Sonikas Festival.

A four-speakers version of Distance II, was performed at:
Ciclo300+ (July 2006) -> Teatro do Vello Concello de San Isidro, Bos Aires.
Vibra (November 2006) -> Outubro Centre de Cultura Contemporànea de Valencia.
AKME06 (December 2006) -> Facultade de Belas Artes de Bilbao.
