Xan Molina Quiroga is mequetrefe, and he try to do a diferent rock, that is out from the alternative-indie cliches, where there are not original ideas and most erverything sound like Los Planetas, Franz Ferdinand, Mogwai, Bloc Party, Strokes ou Pixies. Mequetrefe’s songs are made with electric guitar, bass guitar, computer and virtual instruments -like a virtual hurdy gurdy that sounds in one of his tracks- and they have a typical post-rock extructure, but fleeing from the a-b-a-b shape, with some dub arrangements, specially in the voice and drums treatment. Delays and Galician psychodelian.
The songs of mequetrefe -from A Fonsagrada- always cause surprise, we know how they begin, but we never know how they will finish, like in life.
